Back in 2019, we launched AWay Discovery with stars in our eyes, fueled by passion for adventure, culture, and the enchanting beauty of Bali. Our team was all set to unleash a wave of wanderlust onto the world – until life decided to throw us a curveball. Dreams were big, and so were the sun hats. We were ready to take Bali by storm, one sunset cocktail at a time.

In 2020, where the universe hit pause, and the party seemed to grind to a halt. The year that went from “This is our year!” to “Hold my Bintang”, The pandemic crashed our plans like an uninvited guest, leaving us at a crossroads. But who said the best stories were the ones without a few plot twists? and our grand plans went from jet-setting to couch-surfing. Did we break a sweat? Yeah a little. Did we break the vibe? Never!
A team of determined adventurers donning imaginary capes (and very real face masks) navigating the maze of uncertainty. The struggle was real, my friends, but so was our belief that our dreams were worth fighting for. Hand sanitizer became our sidekick, and face masks were the new fashion statement. We were like the cast of a reality show – a mix of Survivor, The Office, and a dash of Bali magic.
Our grand plan to conquer Bali suddenly felt like trying to find your flip-flops in a hostel full of flip-flops. So, we did what any self-respecting adventurer would do – When life handed us lemons, we didn’t just make lemonade – we set up a whole tropical lemonade stand! With a campaign that spread faster than sunscreen at a beach party, we turned our lockdown blues into a global love fest. Our campaign, fueled by a sprinkle of Bali’s magic, connected hearts globally. Donors from around the world joined our cause and turning our challenges into a global fiesta of support.
To those of you who joined our symphony of support, you’re the heroes! Your love for Bali and AWay Discovery transcended borders, proving that the spirit of adventure and community knows no boundaries. We’re talking about a support system so strong it could rival a Balinese bamboo structure during a tropical storm. We went from travel planners to master chefs, dishing out over 5000 free meals. It was like a Balinese buffet, but without the awkward belly bulge – just a whole lot of smiles. Food fights? Nah, we prefer to call it a feast for the soul. Fueling bodies and lifting spirits, a feast that went beyond nourishment. It was our way of saying, “Hey, even in a pandemic, we can still create banquets of joy!”
With bellies full, AWay Discovery took on a new challenge: trash-talking, quite literally! Armed with trash bags and a sense of humor as contagious as Bali’s laughter, the team turned village clean-ups into a party. It wasn’t your typical cleanup. A commitment to environmental stewardship, alongside volunteers, set out to beautify and rejuvenate the very communities they called home. The impact rippled through the villages, fostering a sense of pride and community spirit.
